Fly line of sight.
With your own radio.
Atenue VR is a drone trainer for practising VLOS and FPV flying in virtual reality: one 5-inch acro quad, one RC field, your EdgeTX or OpenTX transmitter plugged in over USB. Stand on the field, track the quad with your eyes, build the reflexes that transfer to the real thing.

What it is
Real radio, real rates
Any radio with a USB joystick mode: RadioMaster, Jumper, FrSky, BetaFPV, Flysky and more. Learn the stick axes once, enter your Betaflight rates and fly acro the way you fly outside.
VLOS first
You stand in the pilot box on an RC field with a hobby table, a timer and a monitor. The whole point is tracking a small quad at a distance with your head, day or night.
FPV too
Switch to head-locked goggles or free-look FPV from the quad's camera. Camera tilt and field of view are yours to set.
PC VR and standalone
Runs on Windows with any OpenXR headset (Quest over Link or Air Link, Virtual Desktop, SteamVR), or natively on Meta Quest from the Horizon Store.
How buying works
- Create an account on this site and buy the game. Payment is handled by our merchant of record (Xsolla or Paddle), whose name appears on your statement.
- Download the installer from your account page. The link is personal and expires, so come back here whenever you need it again.
- Start the game with the headset on. It shows a short code; sign in on atenue.com/activate on your phone or PC and type it in. Done, the game unlocks by itself.
- Play offline. The game checks in with us about once a month; everything else works without a connection. Up to 5 PCs per account.
Meta Quest
The standalone Quest version is sold on the Meta Horizon Store. Buy it there with your Meta account; purchases, refunds and sign-in are all handled by Meta and no atenue.com account is needed. A PC VR purchase here does not include the Quest version, and the other way round.
Requirements (PC VR)
Minimum
Windows 10/11 64-bit, a Vulkan-capable GPU of GTX 1070 / RX 5600 class, 8 GB RAM, an OpenXR runtime (Meta, SteamVR, Virtual Desktop), 1 GB disk.
Recommended
RTX 3070 or better for the high preset at full headset resolution; a USB radio in joystick mode. Keyboard or Touch controllers work for trying it out.

Questions
Can I get a refund?
Yes: within 14 days of purchase, if you have played less than 2 hours. Request it from your account page, the payment provider pays it back to the original payment method. Full details on the refund policy page.
Does it need to be online?
Only to activate (once per PC) and for a short check about once a month. If the check cannot happen you keep playing for up to two more months before the game asks you to sign in again.
Which radios work?
Anything that shows up as a USB game controller: EdgeTX and OpenTX radios in "USB Joystick" mode, and most others. The axis order is learned in the setup screen, so it does not matter which channel is which.
I bought it on Steam or the Meta Store, do I need an account here?
No. This site is only for the direct PC VR purchase. Quest buyers use their Meta account.
